Wireframes
I did wireframes for the crit because I wanted my idea to be as clear as possible and get the feedback that I wanted on it.
I then printed out the wireframes that I made for the crit in chronological order so that my peers can understand the functionality of the app.
Feedback
I was happy with my feedback because I had thought about what I wanted to know, and went through it with my peers so they knew the concept, what I wanted to achieve etc.
Use more informal/chatty language
As my app is almost like having a conversation with someone 'what should I watch tonight?' the copy should reflect this more and be more chatty. For example, I have 'results' at the moment, but to be more chatty I thought it could be 'films to suit your mood' 'films up your street' etc.
Emphasise on Mood
As the concept of my app is based around a users mood/preferences, this should be the focus. As I was asking what I should filter the saved list by, mood should be one of them as it links back to the original filter. This makes more sense than the ones I had currently thought of, genre/rating.
More Moods
I wanted more moods to show, and so we thought of some more: car chase, mind boggling, avant-garde, nostalgia, cult classics, animation, outer space, being geeky, a right laugh, foreign.
Making Changes
As I had asked how I could improve some of the pages, Laura helped me a lot to go through these and make changes on the print out. This helped me the most I think because its good to see how another person sees the app and how they would use it, as I have been looking at it closely all week. I can now adapt these changes to my wireframes and be closer to designing it.
